Assistant Principal

Bassist Erik Gronfor has been a section member of the Houston Grand Opera since 2001 and assistant principal since 2009. He previously held principal positions in the Charleston Symphony and Albany Symphony Orchestras. In addition to playing with HGO, Erik is the librarian with the Houston Symphony and performs with various Houston based groups, including ROCO and Mercury Orchestra. In the summer he performs in the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Peninsula Music Festival in Fish Creek, Wisconsin.
